Privacy Statements

Website privacy

County Surgery is committed to protecting your personal information. The website you are viewing uses 'cookies' to improve the experience of using the site. Cookies are also used to provide the practice with anonymised data on visitor numbers and how the site is being used, which helps us to improve the site.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small data file that a website can store on your system. They can be used to provide a tailored user experience. Cookies are not software, they are essentially small text files. They cannot be programmed, cannot carry viruses, and cannot install malicious programs on to your computer.

Why does this website use cookies?

This website uses cookies for 2 purposes:

1. To keep a record on your computer of the date you last visited the website homepage. This is used to inform you if there are new notices on our website noticeboard since your last visit. This cookie is set to expire 180 days after your last visit to the site homepage.

2. The site also contains tracking code provided by Google Analytics, used to measure visitor figures. The data on website traffic can then be accessed by the practice and Oldroyd Publishing Group Ltd (who host and maintain the site) in an anonymised form. This can help identify issues with the site, popular or unpopular pages, how many visitors are new visitors etc.
Google set their cookies to expire after a year if there is no return visit within that time.

How do I disallow cookies?

While cookies are an almost essential part of making browsing the web a smooth and less frustrating process, a minority of web users do not wish to allow them.

If you do not wish to accept cookies from our website, or indeed any website, each web browser has its own cookie settings which allow you to control this. To change your cookie settings, refer to the 'help' menu of whichever browser you are using, or simply search the web for 'your browser' + disable cookies.

Does this website collect or process my personal details?

This website does not currently collect or process your personal data.

Some details and information about yourself and any medical conditions you may have are stored on our computer. The practice staff have always been required to treat patient information with the strictest confidence - the introduction of a computer based system does not alter this policy. The practice is registered under the Data Protection Act.

Practice standards

Staff protection

A zero tolerance policy towards violent, threatening and abusive behaviour is in place throughout the NHS. The staff in this practice have a the right to work in an environment free from such behaviour and everything will be done to protect that right. If you do not respect the rights of our staff we may choose to inform the police and/or make arrangements for you to be removed from our medical list.

Safety and security

Whilst all reasonable care has been taken to make the surgery as safe and secure as possible you should note that you are responsible for your own belongings whilst on the premises as well as you own and your children's safety. Please tell one of the receptionists if you see anything which could be potentially dangerous to other patients.

Comments & suggestions

We aim to provide a high quality service to you but occasionally things do not go as smoothly as we would like. This can often be due to circumstances beyond our control but if you have a comment, suggestion or complaint please contact Dr (Chemistry) Mohammed S Islam, the Practice Manager on 01604 632918 who will do his best to resolve the matter for you. A leaflet detailing the practice based complaints procedure is available from reception.
