New strain and Tier 4 & covid
Posted on 4 Jan 2021
As we are now all in Tier 4 and there is also a higher risk of infection of covid due to the new strain, County Surgery are having to be even more strict with our infection control rules. As of today we are:
a. having to lock the toilet as it is required to have a deeper clean than we have manpower to do in the day if it is used.
b. Reinforcing that no patient should arrive more than 5 minutes before an appointment. You will be asked to wait outside or return to your car until your appointment time
c. Reception desk will only be manned by 2 receptionist as we move one to a location away from reception to adhere to space rules
d. All staff are asked to wear masks at all times as well as patients unless the staff member is exempt or alone in the office. Patients who are exempt from face masks are asked to wait outside until called. A face shield is acceptable.
e. Hand gel is provided now toilets are locked and patients can no longer wash hands
f. Reinforcing that only the patient should arrive for their appointment except for 1 parent for a child, 1 Carer or 1 interpreter. Anyone else will be asked to wait outside or in the car until the patient has been seen
I hope you can help us to keep the surgery safe for you and our staff. Hands, space, face, stay home and keep safe. Together we can do this.
