Flu Vaccination Posted on 5 Oct 2017

FLU VACCINATION PROGRAMME 2017/18

County Surgery is a running a Saturday flu clinic on 07 October 2017 with booked appointments available for adults and children.

In 2017/18, the following are eligible for flu vaccination:

all children aged two to three on 31 August 2017 (born between 1 September 2013 to 31 August 2015)

children in reception class and school years 1, 2, 3 and 4 (vaccinated in school)

those aged six months to under 65 years in clinical risk groups

      pregnant women

those aged 65 years and over

those in long-stay residential care homes

      carers

We are also able to offer vaccinations during appointments and we will run some booked clinics during the week for eligible patients.

We encourage our patients to have their vaccinations administered in surgery for the following reasons:

Your vaccination will be carried out by a fully trained nurse with a lifetime of experience

Your vaccination will be recorded in your medical record immediately, minimising the risk of receiving a second injection

We are aware of patients with certain allergies who are unable to receive the standard vaccination

We are able to offer a chaperone if required

All our clinical staff have DBS clearance to deal with vulnerable adults and children

We have anaphylactic equipment available in the event of an emergency

You would be doing your bit to support NHS primary care services
